Full-Time Roles:

The Kitchen Manager must have 3-5 years of culinary/cooking experience and kitchen management in a Café/bakery or in a full service moderate volume restaurant. Must have a current Food Manager Certification. Culinary school background a plus. The Kitchen Manager will be a working chef and is responsible for leading and maintaining Back of House operations for all kitchen staff. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team with excellent organizational and time management skills. Must have in-depth knowledge of culinary techniques (i.e., egg cookery, proficient meat cooking techniques such as braising, roasting, & sautéing, keen eye of food presentation, etc.). Additional duties will include hiring, training and scheduling kitchen staff, performing quality control on food plating and temperature, streamlining kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times, maintaining regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff is in compliance with safety regulations, and identifying areas of potential waste. Must also have a solid understanding of financial management principles that include maintaining budgeted revenue, cost of goods, labor, supplies, and operating cash flow related to food operations. Reviews monthly profit and loss statements and assists in addressing variances to support overall Café success.

Full-Time with benefits. Required to work Saturday and Sunday. Weekday hours 7am-3pm (with 2 days off).

You will be responsible for completing design jobs and edits within assigned deadlines and expected to design within our organization's style while seeking opportunities to expand our design capabilities.
 
Qualifications include being well-versed in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently or as a team to achieve ministry goals. You should have in-depth knowledge of graphic design, styles and layout techniques. You should also have 1-2 years of experience completing design projects from conception to production.

Part-Time Roles:

Shepherd Church is seeking a reliable and experienced Line/Prep Cook to join our Pillars Cafe team! We're passionate about providing high-quality food in a welcoming environment—and we’re looking for someone who shares that commitment.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing dishes according to established recipes and upholding the highest food safety and cleanliness standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic cooking techniques, be comfortable operating standard kitchen equipment (grill, oven, fryer, etc.), and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen
  • Strong working knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety
  • Availability to work weekends
  • A valid Food Handler’s card

In this role, you'll write, edit, and proofread content for a variety of church communications, ensuring everything we share is clear, compelling, free of grammatical errors, and aligned with our mission. We’re looking for someone with 1-2 years of professional writing or editing experience; Exceptional writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field; Familiarity with style guides and proofreading best practices; An eye for detail and a love for clean, polished content.
